DENISE AUSTIN: THIS ONE'S FOR YOU.

So I'm auditioning for Denise Austin's new workout DVD project on Tuesday.  When I tell people this with a look of excitement in my face, I'm met with blank stares 7 out of 10 times.  This blows my mind and leaves me in a state of disbelief that people don't know who she is.

Denise Austin and Jack LaLanneThis fitness icon, known as Denise Austin, spoke at the memorial of another fitness icon who recently passed away, Jack LaLanne.  Even if you're completely clueless, how would you not have any understanding of the gal whose face and name is on every stand displaying fitness DVDs at Sam's Club, COSTCO, Wal Mart, K Mart or any-other-kind-of-mart.  She's probably been on QVC, but I don't watch QVC so I am hazarding a guess here.

She's been, and is currently, on TV and in commercials.  Yeah, she isn't the flavor of the month, Jillian Michaels, but she has been present in culture for a long while now.

So with this scenario in mind, this is just simply a post with some links to Denise Austin's online presence.  Maybe you'll be the one who hasn't heard of her who now has.

HAVE A STRONG LIFE: JACK LALANNE, 1914-2011.

The original purveyor of wanting your days to be strong, The Godfather of Fitness, passes away at 96 years young.

Don't be dismayed though, as Jack LaLanne will carry his own casket at his funeral.

Thank you Jack for starting the discussion and constantly reminding us about what's really important.

You will FOREVER be an inspiration to myself and countless millions of others.

Have a strong life, Jack LaLanne.  Have a strong life indeed.
